BlackMountain gives you access to leading AI models from multiple providers. Each model has different strengths in terms of capability, speed, and cost.

Switching Models

You can change the model at any time during a conversation using the model selector dropdown above the input field. Each new message will use the currently selected model.

Setting a Default Model

To set your preferred default model:

1. Open Settings from the profile menu.
2. Under Chat, select your preferred default model.
3. All new conversations will use this model unless you change it.

Thinking Mode

Some models (such as Gemini 3 Pro) support a thinking mode that shows the model’s step-by-step reasoning process. When available, you can toggle thinking mode from the chat input area.
